What Can I Expect?

Use of English

There are 4 exercises in the Use of English in the Cambridge First, Advanced and Proficiency exams.

In this exercise you have a text with 8 gaps. There are four possible answers to choose from for each gap.

This is a short text with 8 gaps and where you need to add a single word to the gap.

In this exercise there is a short text with 8 gaps. At the end of the line there is a word which you need to change in some way to fit the gap.

There are 6 sentences in this exercise and a key word which needs to be used to complete the sentence so that it has a similar meaning as the first sentence. You cannot change the form of this key word.

Reading

There are 3 exercises in the Reading section of the Cambridge First and Proficiency exams.

First & Proficiency

Part 5 is a text with 6 multiple choice answers. For each question there are 4 options.

Part 6 is a text with missing sentences.The possible missing sentences are listed after the text with letters. There are 6 gaps but 7 sentences.

A set of 10 questions  based on a text broken into a number of sections or several short texts on a similar theme.

Advanced Reading

There are 4 exercises in the Reading section of the Cambridge Advanced exam.

Part 5 is a text with 6 multiple choice answers. For each question there are 4 options.

Part 6 consists of four texts on the same theme with four questions , which can be used more than once.

Part 7 is a text with missing sentences.The possible missing sentences are listed after the text with letters. There are 6 gaps but 7 possible answers.

A set of 10 multiple-matching questions for a text broken into sections or several short texts on a similar theme.
